Trader Joe’s is one of the best stores to find unique snacks and desserts. But we can’t overlook that the neighborhood grocer is also a great place to stock up on staples. Whether you’re replenishing baking ingredients ahead of the holiday season or buying olive oil and spices for weeknight dinners, the retailer has it all.
One of the products shoppers love to keep on hand is Trader Joe’s pasta. Not only is it easy on the wallet, but when you can’t figure out what to cook for dinner, a box is always a good place to start. Recently, we spotted two new pasta shapes on shelves, and we can’t wait to use them in our favorite recipes.

Two new organic pasta shapes just dropped at Trader Joe’s. Organic Square Rigatoni Pasta and Organic Radiatore Pasta are now on shelves and already getting glowing reviews from fans. The imported bags feature a single ingredient: organic durum wheat semolina. According to the rigatoni’s product description, the wheat is processed with bronze-coated extruders to produce thick shapes that “deliver a perfectly al dente texture.”
Each eight-ounce package contains eight servings, bringing the price per person to around 25 cents each. Paired with one of TJ’s chef-loved sauces and whipped cream cheese, you have an easy meal for a group that costs less than a single fast-food combo. On Instagram, one fan said the new offerings are the “perfect sauce vessel,” and urged the post’s creator to “get more bags.” Another called the radiatore “perfect” for beef stroganoff.
In a Reddit thread discussing the new finds, shoppers were thrilled to learn that the pasta retains its shape after cooking and shared why it’s an instant favorite. “Loading up! My family loves rigatoni. It’s the best when meat sauce gets trapped inside. [It] makes for such a wonderful bite,” shared one commenter.
“Trader Joe’s has the most creative pasta shapes! I buy them all the time, even when I don’t need pasta,” another Redditor wrote. “There’s never a problem with having too much pasta, though! I could eat it every day.”
We can see either of these options being delicious in skillet lasagna, lobster pasta, and creamy garlic dishes. Trader Joe’s new $2 pasta varieties are only available for a limited time. So, be sure to stock up and enjoy them in soups and casseroles all season long.
