Some are saying Butterfinger is “finally stepping up.” For too long, the brand has sat in the corner of old-school candy bars, overlooked while its competitors took creative risks. But this year, Butterfinger has flipped the script.
It all began with the brand’s transformation into a crispety, crunchety ice cream bar. Then, for the first time in a decade, Butterfinger started experimenting with entirely new flavors. First came a sweet-and-salty Salted Caramel edition. Then, a first-of-its-kind marshmallow coating replaced its signature milk chocolate shell. And just when fans thought the surprises were over, Butterfinger just confirmed a brand-new craveable flavor.
As one fan perfectly put it: “Butterfinger, the most underrated candy bar. Now becoming the most innovative.”
Butterfinger Launches a New French Toast Candy Bar
Rumors of an exciting new Butterfinger began swirling at the Sweets & Snacks Expo earlier this year. Now, after the NACS Convenience Store Trade Show, we can confirm the whispers were true—Butterfinger French Toast is officially happening.
The new breakfast-inspired candy bar taps into one of the biggest trends in snacking right now: cinnamon. According to NACS, the cinnamon craze is in full swing, driving everything from Twix Snickerdoodle and churro-flavored chips to cinnamon sugar–smoked barbecue snacks.
We’ve seen plenty of proof ourselves this year. Chips Ahoy debuted Chewy Cinnamon Bun Cookies, Aldi dropped Cinnamon Churro Ice Cream Sandwiches, and even Oreo joined in with horchata-flavored cookies in collaboration with Selena Gomez.
While Butterfinger didn’t go all-in on a straight cinnamon flavor, its French Toast twist hits right on trend with what consumers are craving. We’re expecting something that blends warm, homey spices with maple syrup richness, all while keeping that classic crispety, crunchety Butterfinger texture.
Ferrero hasn’t revealed much else yet, other than that the bars are rumored to launch in early 2026.
But we do know candy fans are already impressed—and excited. “Butterfinger sneaking in with several new flavors out of NO where. We live in fantastic times,” one fan wrote. “Butterfinger can just take all my money now,” another declared.
It might be a few more months of waiting, but we’re already counting down. With the third new flavor launch of the year, Butterfinger is no longer the underdog of the candy aisle—it’s the one leading the pack.
