Chick-fil-A may be known for its classic chicken nuggets, but the brand is no stranger to innovative products. Beyond spiced-up spins on CFA signatures, fans also love the fast food chain’s seasonal releases, from tropical lemonades to summery shakes and pretzel buns.
Recently, the chicken chain has even gone so far as to test a brand-new, beverage-only concept (complete with smoothies and coffees), and continues to subtly drop new national potentials—including sweet potato fries and beef burgers—at its test restaurant in Maryland.
Now, the brand is gearing up for a first-of-its-kind drop, and Chick-fil-A’s newest release might be one of its best yet.
Chick-fil-A Is Now Available In a Vending Machine
While fans may expect new seasonal menu items such as milkshakes or sandwiches, Chick-fil-A recently surprised fans with a brand-new, first-of-its-kind drop: a vending machine.
The fast food giant recently installed its first automated vending machine, which features a temperature-controlled fridge for storing a selection of fan-favorite Chick-fil-A items and is easily navigated with a touch screen interface. Just like the standard vending machine, Chick-fil-A’s customers can choose their items, pay with a charge card, and receive their pick. The new machine does not take cash.
Customers who visit the machine can snag Chick-fil-A’s Southwest Veggie Wrap with Creamy Salsa for $7.99, or the Chick-fil-A Cool Wrap with Avocado Lime Ranch for $8.49. Each wrap is delivered in a sealed box that also includes napkins.
And since it isn’t a trip to CFA without waffle-cut potatoes, the machine also includes Waffle Potato Chips for $2.19. Whether you’re looking for a side to complete your wrap or just want something to snack on, the market fridge offers both the original recipe and the Chick-fil-A Sauce Flavored Waffle Potato Chips for an extra crunch.
The catch? There’s only one Chick-fil-A vending machine as of right now. CFA’s limited-edition market fridge resides in Children’s Hospital of Georgia in Augusta.
A Chick-fil-A spokesperson told Allrecipes the venture “seeks to provide a convenient option for hospital employees and visitors on the go” and will be “another way to meet customers where they are, like late at night when other food options may not be available.”
The machine could be an ideal solution for hospital staff members, patients, and visitors who are craving quality food that’s quick, tasty, and convenient, regardless of the hour.
Billed as “a short-term test,” it’s unclear how long the market fridge will be available in Augusta, or if the chain plans to introduce additional vending machines elsewhere.
Luckily for fans who need round-the-clock bites, the new vending machine will serve food 24 hours a day, six days a week. Unfortunately, since it’s replenished by local Team Members, it will also follow the restaurant’s longtime protocol and remain closed on Sundays. So if you were hoping to find a loophole and get your CFA over the weekend, you’ll have to wait a bit longer. But at least you’ll have Chick-fil-A wraps and snacks to tide you over in the meantime.
