The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) announced on Oct. 17 that Jody’s Inc. is recalling Cabot Creamery Sea Salt Caramel Cheddar Popcorn due to the potential presence of an undeclared allergen.
The issue was identified after the firm was notified by its licensing partner that customers had complained about peanuts found in the snack bags. Anyone who has an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts runs the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the affected product.
According to Cabot Creamery, the popcorn “was manufactured by a third party, Jody’s Inc. under a licensing agreement with The Farmer Companies. It was not produced in any Cabot Creamery facility, and no other Cabot products are affected.”
How To Identify the Recalled Popcorn
The recalled Cabot Creamery Sea Salt Caramel Cheddar Popcorn was packed in 6-ounce (170 gram) foil-printed bags, and marked with the following:
- Lot Number: 2519907B1
- Best If Enjoyed By: July 15, 2026
The snack was distributed by Jody’s Inc. on July 23, 2025 to warehouses in California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, North Carolina, Oregon, and Texas where it was then shipped to retail facilities across the United States.
Product images can be found on the FDA’s site.
