It’s the most wonderful time of the year. Why? Winter coffees at Starbucks are on the way, including my beloved Eggnog Latte, which the green siren so cruelly left off the menu last year like an absolute heartless Grinch.
My go-to red cup creation—the sugary brew which helps me tackle all the lists, crowds, and parties of the season—is an Eggnog Latte with additional pumps of gingerbread syrup. It tastes like a gingerbread cookie with eggnog frosting and, trust me, you’ll never go back to a ho-hum Peppermint Mocha after experiencing this level of warm, spiced cheer.
However, I might have to make my signature order cold this year. Because Starbucks is about to drop its holiday collection, and there’s a cold cup in the new lineup that’s already taking the internet by storm. Fans are claiming it will sell out not in one day—but in one hour.
Starbucks Debuts New Glass Bearista Cold Cup

If you thought the new Starbucks x Hello Kitty holiday collab couldn’t be topped, brace yourself for any even cuter critter: the Bearista. This little dude or dudette appears in various Starbucks merch all around the world, from plushies to keychains. The Bearista is particularly popular in Asia, where it’s been featured in several bear-shaped cups, much like a honey bear bottle.
But now, fans in the U.S. can celebrate this adorable character with the brand-new Glass Starbucks Bearista Cold Cup. Part of the new Starbucks Holiday collection, this glass features a Starbucks green-and-white straw, but most importantly: a transparent bear holding its own coffee cup and wearing a Starbucks-branded teeny, weenie beanie.
As a Seattleite, I cannot get over the little hat in all of its Starbucks at Pike Place Market origin story glory. My life is now measured in two chapters: before the Glass Starbucks Bearista Cold Cup and after the Glass Starbucks Bearista Cold Cup.
Or, as @misstravelz on TikTok said, “One cup to rule them all.” A fan added in the comments, “Making this cup my personality all week.”
The Starbucks Holiday collection includes other lovely seasonal drinkware, from a Golden Poinsettia Mug (perfect for a coffee lover’s gift basket) to the new matte White Starbucks Tumbler, a great neutral to enjoy well beyond the holiday season. But fans have locked in on this bear as the must-have item.
“Should I expect it to be sold out the first day?” someone asked on Reddit. “It will be sold out in the first hour,” replied a Redditor, who self-identified as a Starbucks store manager.
“Let me put it to you this way,” another self-identified Starbucks employee chimed in. “Ours haven’t even hit the shelf and they’re already sold out.”
Of course, some Redditors were quick to mention it will be a pain to clean the bear-shaped glass. How does that old saying go? Beauty is pain? Bearista is worth it.
Other Redditors pointed out the steep price tag: $29.95. Now, I agree. Bearista is the perfect White Elephant party gift, but for 30 bucks? Not so much. However, unlike many of the other viral Starbucks tumblers that have come and gone, Bearista is made of glass. And evergreen! You won’t have to pack up Bearista with all of your holiday ornaments at the end of the year. Bearista is accessorized for the entire winter season, and my #girlmath gives that a much higher value than other Christmas-specific cups.
But, listen, there’s no time to ask for this in a letter to the North Pole. The Starbucks Holiday lineup drops Nov. 6, so Santa can’t help you now. Maybe ‘ol eBay can next week.
